13. Inner Workings - September 8-14, 2013
Paul-
Technology cycles drive inner workings. Of course, it could be argued that it's the other way around.
In any event, the hunk of metal came from an old Allis Chalmers tractor my nephews uses on his farm. It's part of a discarded transmission component as the teeth on the flip side are stripped away in places.
The plastic and circuitry came from...well, you know how such things are employed.
I was thinking of a "bone and sinew" approach for this week's theme, but I decided I had go with this when I recognized the sheer power and central role each brought to the inner workings of the respective mechanisms of which they were a part, while contrasting so greatly in physical size and date-of-inception.

This large warehouse looking space is the inside of my pinball machine. When you watch it visually, there are lights going on and off bells and chimes ringing and sparks going off at high voltage contact points. The exposure for this photo at 30 seconds at f22. The disappointing part is the sparks. You can see them in the slightly left and lower from center. They look like 2 green dots. I shot them with the lens at a wider aperture but they looked the same.

The inner workings of this burger are elk meat topped with colby jack cheese and Farmer John's premium classic bacon, with a drizzle of Sweet Baby Ray's honey barbeque sauce, lying on a bed of two fresh tomato slices and crisp green lettuce, while bookended by Mexican Torta bread.
As you may know, elk meat is a very healthy meat... high in protein and low in calories and fats.
'Fatal Attraction' is the term given to the technique in which the male elk bath in their own urine to attract cows.
By the way, this week's topic was TASTY!!!

The dealer was so clever, so rehearsed, so practiced. He could deal cards, and hide cards, add cards and remove cards just like a character in the movies. Sure he was careful about winning, but also making sure that other players would win as well so that they wouldn't catch on. He had worked it all out inside. The problem was that as the night continued and more and more alcohol was consumed he started to fell smug, and that made him careless. He was so proud of the incredible hand he had dealt himself, plus the extra card he had up his sleeve, that he failed for one brief moment to remember that a full deck of cards only has four aces, not five, Authorities never found his body.
ISO 200, Nikon D3s with a Nikkor 24-70mm zoom set to 70mm, tripod mounted, f/11 at 1.6 seconds.
